Welcome to Defends Designs. I started designing websites just a little over 10 years ago. I work very quick, in fact you won't find anyone who works quicker then I do. I have purchased domains for customers, and had content online in less than 3 hours. I have chosen to have a limited number of clients because I have a full time vocation outside of Defends Designs, however I am adding clients now. The support I offer before, during, and after the design process is top-of-the-line. I have outlined some things you can mull over to decide which way you want to go with your website. Just follow the links on the left side of the page. PREPARATION. 1) Start with making a record of what you are going to need in a diary or on a tablet. We charge by the page, so you may want to see how many pages it will take to showcase your material. 2) Pictures quickly fill up a page. Thumbnails that link to bigger pictures are a good way to save space and get some text on the page to make your material understandable. 3) In preparing your Website, I found it helpful to create categories. You may have categories like "photos, contact info, services, products, personnel, business hours" and so on. 4) Obviously, you need a good name for your domain. Short names are preferred so people can remember, and can spell them. Sometimes a longer domain name may be necessary. You need to check, or have us check if certain names are available. 5) You need to start collecting photos if you want your own pictures on the site. We can take digital photos for you, or scan pictures you may have. There is no charge for photos we take, but there will be a small travel charge to come to your location spending the time taking the pictures. 6) It would be a good idea to create some captions, describing pictures that you wish to showcase on your site. We can do all of this for you, with your input, or you can get a headstart and plan beforehand.    ^top^

EXPENSES. Your first cost will be registering a domain name which costs $19. a year. Longer contracts can get registration for as low as $14. per year. It will cost you a $10. one-time fee, to set your new domain to the server. Another cost, is commercial hosting. While the National average for hosting is $18. monthly, we are set-up to provide hosting for $13. per month. This will be billed quarterly. The final cost, is the biggest, that is for your web design. We charge by the page, but you will learn that overall, our prices are much cheaper than most web designers. This is due to all the free things we provide like pictures, free & unlimited graphics, links, guestbooks, counters, scripts, and so on. DESIGN. 95% of the graphics we use are made by us, and are free to you. This is a service that no one offers but us. We are skilled graphics artists and also skilled in advanced Flash development and javascript. You can rest assured that your site will be techically savy, and will be both, sophisticated, and yet simple, in manueverability and navigation. We will put your site online as we develop it and let you personally be a part of the final outcome as we go along.    ^top^

HOSTING. We offer World Class Hosting to all of our customers. Prices start at $13.00 monthly with discounts for 6, 9, & 12 month hosting terms. We are currently offering 3 months of free hosting to all new accounts. This is an $78.00 value that you want to take advantage of.    ^top^

PROMOTION. We have everything to gain and we are committed in the promotion of your site. Keywords and search engine placement are very important advertizement tools for your Web presence. We know what you need & we know how to get good results through search engine spiders, including listings in other major directories as well.    ^top^

All graphics, logos, photos, guestbooks, counters, search engine placement, and anything you need for your site is completely free. We have no extra or hidden charges. You purchase your site by the page, and we load it with everything and anything you want at no extra cost. We do charge a small fee for requested FLASH development. Most of the FLASH on your site (if we choose to use FLASH) will be of our own design and will be free. We do not charge for digital photography but we do charge for our time and any subsequent mileage.

ABOUT ME. My name is Brian Craig and I graduated from Flatonia High School in 1976. I am 51 years old. I began working with computers in 1996 when I started my design company. I am currently a CNC 4th axis leadman at Kemlon Products, in Schulenburg, Texas. I am a born-again Christian, a skilled writer, a theologian of twenty-five years, and a Christian Apologist for ten years.
